Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 September 2026
These terms govern your membership of Thanal Society and your use of this website and member portal, including online payments.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions form an agreement between you (the "member" or "user") and Thanal Society, a registered welfare society (Reg. No. TVM/TC/450/2025), registered office at 2nd Floor, RJ Madolil Towers, Peroorkada P.O, Thiruvananthapuram – 695005, Kerala, India. By registering, paying a subscription or using the member portal, you accept these terms.
2. Membership
- Membership is open to serving Union Bank of India officers in Kerala, subject to the Society's Bye-Laws.
- A one-time admission fee of ₹1,000 applies and is non-refundable.
- Members contribute a monthly subscription of ₹100, credited to the member's welfare corpus.
- Nomination is compulsory at registration.
3. Corpus and tiers
- Contributions accumulate in the member's corpus. Every contribution is a multiple of ₹100.
- The corpus of a member shall not exceed ₹30,000 (Bye-Law §VI.1.b). Collection stops automatically once the ceiling is reached.
- Tiers follow the corpus: Silver (up to ₹10,000), Gold (above ₹10,000 to ₹20,000), Platinum (above ₹20,000).
- The corpus is refundable as principal only, without interest, on cessation of membership as per the Bye-Laws — see our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
4. Online payments
- Payments are processed securely through Easebuzz, our payment aggregator. All amounts are in Indian Rupees (INR).
- AutoPay (e-NACH mandate): members may authorise an automatic monthly debit of ₹100, collected on the last working day of each month via NPCI's National Automated Clearing House.
- Tier upgrade: a member may make a one-time top-up payment to raise their corpus and tier, subject to the ₹30,000 ceiling.
- You authorise the e-NACH mandate once with your bank; you may cancel it at any time (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy). The automatic debit stops on its own when the corpus reaches ₹30,000.
5. Member responsibilities
- Provide accurate registration and bank details, and keep your login credentials confidential.
- Ensure sufficient balance in your account for authorised debits.
- Use the portal only for lawful, personal membership purposes.
6. Limitation of liability
The Society administers a member welfare corpus; it is not a bank, deposit-taking institution or investment scheme, and no interest or return is promised. Payment processing, mandate authorisation and settlement are performed by Easebuzz and the banking/NPCI network; the Society is not liable for delays, failures or errors arising from those systems, from incorrect details provided by the member, or from events beyond its reasonable control.
7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always available on this page. For any question, contact us at thanaluboa@gmail.com or +91 9747773220.
